USB Server for Linux


This new unique software product allows to share any USB device to use them over local network or Internet. To share USB device plugged into computer with Linux OS you just need to install USB Server product into your system. Your system must have kernel v2.6.15 and higher so you could use the product. USB Server also requires the support of UDEV subsystem.

Please note! If your OS is running on the kernel with earlier version and you want to use USB Server, please contact our support Team. And we will create USB Server in accordance with your kernel version.


USB Server Features:

- Absolutely FREE.

- USB v1.1 and USB v2.0 compatible.

- Presence of USB Host Controller on the PC where you are going to use remote USB device IS NOT NECESSARILY.

- Integration into Linux-based embedded devices

- High-speed isochronous USB devices are supported.

- Auto-replacing of network connection if it is broken.

- VM ware, Virtual PC compatible.

How to get the list of USB devices:

To get the list of USB devices with what USB Server is working you need to carry out usbsrv -l




USB device sharing

To share selected USB device you have to carry out "sharing" command and point out device's bus-id and hwid



E.g. to share USB Human Interface Device Mouse you have to carry out this command:
usbsrv -s -d 3-1 -h 1241-1166


USB device stop sharing

For stop sharing selected USB device you have to carry out "stop sharing" command and point out device's bus-id and hwid
